Luke Shaw and Eric Bailly add to Manchester United injuries

Eric Bailly missed nine games with a knee injury earlier this season

Defenders Luke Shaw and Eric Bailly were added to Manchester United’s growing injury list against Swansea.

England left-back Shaw – who has completed just four Premier League games this season – went off with an ankle problem after nine minutes.

And centre-back Bailly then limped off in the 61st minute.

United are already without Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Paul Pogba, Chris Smalling, Phil Jones, Marcos Rojo and Timothy Fosu-Mensah.

Midfielder Marouane Fellaini is suspended after headbutting Sergio Aguero in the 0-0 draw at Manchester City on Thursday.

Before Sunday’s game at Old Trafford, United boss Jose Mourinho had joked he may have to play in defence.

I’m ready to play against Swansea, jokes Mourinho

He said: “I’m also training hard in the gym so I can be an option.

“Next up is Mourinho and (19-year-old) Axel Tuanzebe.”
